The second TDISport rolling road day was a great success and brought together both old and new members. Taking place at the CCTuning headquarters at Burton Upon Trent, the event on 24th July 2010 started at around 10am, ensuring the members taking part and the ones coming just to socialise and watch had enough time to arrive.

First on the rolling road was aaronbromley (TDISport site owner) in his remapped SEAT Ibiza FR TDI (130bhp in standard form), reaching 162bhp, an improvement of 3bhp from the previous rolling road session a few months prior, with the small increase difference being put down to the new green panel air filter. The power curve was nice and smooth making the car nice to drive.

Deanamite was second up onto the dynometer with his SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDI (packing 160bhp as standard) with hybrid turbo and switchable remap. The Ibiza Cupra reached a maximum power output of 222bhp (a truly massive increase of almost 40 per cent) and managed to smoke out all the spectators who were present in the building from his exhaust.

In third place on the rolling road, DanBoy’s beloved silver Skoda Octavia Hatch (105bhp in standard guise) was shown to be producing a solid 109bhp on the dyno – just a little bit higher than the official Skoda book figures. A little while later and after a remap courtesy of the hosts, CCTuning, this figure was increased by an astonishing 20 per cent, to a much healthier 132bhp.

TDISport member Northener’s Diesel BMW 1 Series with an official figure of 163bhp was proved to actually be producing a healthy 188bhp as standard (common for a diesel). With a remap on the cards during the day, this figure was soon boosted to over 222bhp (an 18 per cent improvement), ensuring this TDISport member was left feeling very happy!

Pip’s Skoda Fabia TDI (130bhp as standard) but at the time boasting a de-cat performed the very same morning and a remap produced 156bhp on the dyno, over 20bhp less than on the previous rolling road meet. Confused as to where the power had escaped to the graphs were studied but showed good usable power and a smooth curve. Since the day this has now been boosted yet more with the installation of a front mounted intercooler, leaving the Fabia with around 195bhp after having another remap to make best use of the modifications.
