Skoda opens UK order books for the fourth-generation Octavia
Skoda is set to welcome the fourth-generation Octavia to the UK this summer and has opened the order books for its newcomer from today. The company says the new model is the most advanced and sophisticated model ever to wear the Octavia badge, with the all-new model building on 60 years of Octavia tradition.
Mid-life update for the BMW 5 Series
BMW has introduced several changes in an updated 5 Series range. Most models now feature mild-hybrid technology. Like the new BMW 5 Series Saloon, the new BMW 5 Series Touring will also be available with a plug-in hybrid drive system from November 2020. The use of mild hybrid technology with a 48V starter-generator will be rolled out to all models with a four- or six-cylinder engine, except PHEV and M550i xDrive models.
Mild hybrid tech for updated Volvo S90 and V90
Volvo Cars has revealed refreshed versions of the S90 saloon and V90 estate, including a refined exterior design and a brand-new, sound system by Bowers & Wilkins. In a broader upgrade, the company’s 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain options are now available on every Volvo model, further boosting the company’s electrified offer.

Fiat launches Mild Hybrid tech for the 500 and Panda
UK pricing and specifications for the new Fiat 500 Mild Hybrid and Panda Mild Hybrid have been announced, with the car arriving in UK showrooms from February and March 2020 respectively. Fiat says that with the introduction of mild hybrid technology to the line-up, the 500 and the Panda provide “all the benefits of efficient, compact, lightweight and accessible hybrid driving”.
