Mild hybrid tech for the Fiat 500 and Panda

The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda will be the first FCA models to adopt the group’s new hybrid technology. The new 500 Mild Hybrid and Panda Mild Hybrid will be arriving in UK showrooms from February and March 2020 respectively. Fiat says the electrification of the brand will continue with the start of production of the new 500 in its spiritual home of Turin. This model will be 100 per cent electric and will therefore play a key role in the FCA e-Mobility strategy.

Estate models to spearhead Skoda Octavia launch

Skoda is preparing to launch the fourth generation of the Octavia, which has grown in size and is longer and wider than its predecessor. Nearly two thirds of all Octavia buyers opt for the estate body style and today, the Octavia is the bestselling estate in Europe and the most popular import car in Germany. Skoda will therefore launch the estate variant of the Octavia first; with the launch of the following a few weeks later.

Five hybrids for the new Volkswagen Golf range

A new chapter in the history of Volkswagen’s best-selling car has started with the world premiere of the eighth Golf, which the company describes as “digitalised, connected, and intuitive to operate”. Hybrid versions will be launched at the same time. Speeds of up to 210 km/h (130 mph) are possible with assisted driving.

Production start for the new Ford Puma

Production of the new Ford Puma is now underway at Ford’s manufacturing facility in Craiova, Romania, with full UK pricing now available. High specification First Edition models will be exclusively offered for delivery from January, ahead of the full range becoming available to order early next year.

Mild hybrid tech for the updated Audi Q7

The Audi Q7 falls into line with its Q8 counterpart, taking on board the latest engine updates, mild hybrid drivetrain developments and cabin digitalisation innovations first seen in the coupé-inspired flagship of the Q range.
