Peugeot is set to unveil the all-new 5008 as a large seven-seater SUV in the C segment at this month’s Paris Motor Show before its launch in Spring 2017.
The new model includes the latest digital version of Peugeot i-Cockpit, Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), and several high-tech features designed to enhance comfort and safety. Peugeot believes that with seven seats, the new 5008 is the first SUV to offer modularity on a par with that of the best people-carriers.
Inside, the driver’s environment features the newest version of Peugeot i-Cockpit with its compact steering wheel, a large 8” touchscreen dashboard and a 12.3” high-resolution digital head-up display.
The new 5008 has a 2.84m wheelbase and a length of 4.64m, making it 19cm longer than the 3008 SUV and 11cm longer than the original 5008 .
There are three matching, separate, folding seats in the second row, adjustable in length and inclination and two removable, separate, folding seats in the third row. The boot capacity is 780 dm3 VDA 210 (1060 litres). The new 5008 SUV can also have foldable front passenger seat (to carry especially long loads up to 3.20m) and a hands-free motorised tailgate.
The new 5008 SUV, the 308 and the new 3008 SUV all feature the Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) and the very latest Euro 6.1 powertrains.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems make driving even safer with a wide range of safety features: Advanced Grip Control – including new exclusive Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC), Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Distance Alert, Active Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Driver attention warning, Smart Beam Assistance, Speed sign recognition and speed suggestion, Adaptive cruise control with stop feature (automatic gearbox), Active blind spot monitoring, Park Assist and Visio Park (360° vision)
The new 5008 SUV is also gives the opportunity to integrate in its boot the e-Kick, a very smart electrically assisted folding scooter, or the e-Bike eF01, a new electrically assisted portable bicycle. e-Kick and e-Bike both have a mobile charging dockstation.
The all-new Peugeot 5008 SUV range includes four trim levels – two mainstream versions (Active, Allure) plus GT Line and GT versions. Manufactured in Rennes, France, the new 5008 SUV is unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and on sale in the UK from Spring 2017.
