A pair of photos depicting the all-new Kia cee’d dropped into the Diesel Car inbox this afternoon, totally unexpectedly.

It was anticipated that no further information would be released ahead of its motor show debut at Geneva in March. However, Kia bosses have taken a U-turn and released a rear shot and a side view, which displays rather SEAT Leon-esque proportions and similar design cues. The front view was released earlier this week, before the car goes on sale in the UK in June.

A more versatile SW estate version will go on sale in the Autumn and a three-door pro_cee’d replacement will arrive early next year. The name for the latter is still under discussion, with considerable debate ongoing as to whether to retain the underscore, and the pro_cee’d name, or simply refer to the car as the thee-door cee’d. The three-door version of the Rio, due on sale soon, is referred to as such by the Korean car company.
