On Test

Ford Grand Tourneo CONNECT ACTIVE 1.5 ECOBLUE

Just as we get our hands on the most rugged version of the Tourneo Connect range, Ford replaces it with an all-new model, this time based on the Volkswagen Caddy. As a result of a joint venture between the two auto giants, the firm’s new Transit Connect van with windows has been developed in-house by Volkswagen, with a Ford badge slapped on the front and back. But with the newcomer not on sale until next year, here we test the grandest, Grand Tourneo of them all, the Active model, with seven-seats. By adopting a few SUV styling cues, like the Fiesta and Focus has done in its car range, the Active model has been beefed up nicely, with protective grey mouldings for the wheelarches, silver skid plates front and rear and chunky 17-inch alloy wheels.
