Citroën UK introduces £5,000 “Swappage” scheme

Citroën UK has introduced a new Swappage Scheme – effective for the remainder of 2019 – across some of its most popular models. Customers who have owned a car or van – of any make and model – for more than 90 days, which was first registered before 1 January 2013, can trade it in and receive a Swappage discount of £5,000 (including VAT) off a new, lower emissions C3 Aircross Compact SUV, C5 Aircross SUV or C4 Cactus Hatch.

The Citroën Swappage Scheme comes after the Mayor of London launched a similar scheme to help low income and disabled Londoners to scrap older cars. As part of the scheme in London, eligible applicants can get £2,000 to scrap a Euro 4 petrol car (older than 2005), or Euro 6 diesel car (older than September 2015). As a result, Citroën customers who live in one of 32 London Boroughs and meet the criteria for both schemes can benefit from up to £7,000 in savings.

CarTakeBack, the French brand’s official car-recycling partner, has designed its Citroën recycling package so that dealerships across the UK can dispose of cars traded in through the scheme easily and efficiently. If the trade in vehicle is to be scrapped, the dealer portal allows customer to have their existing car collected from one of three locations: their nearest dealership, their own home or even from their work address.

Eligible Citroën Swappage Scheme customers can also benefit from a variety of products from PSA Finance.

Eurig Druce, Citroën UK’s Sales Director, commented: “We are delighted to be able to introduce our new Citroën Swappage Scheme for the remainder of 2019. With a range of award-winning products available, including our New C5 Aircross SUV, now is a great time to upgrade an existing older vehicle, to a newer, safer and cleaner Citroën model.”
