An update from the editorial team

As you’ll already be aware, the entire world is facing huge challenges and changes to the way that it operates in day-to-day life as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Here at DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine, we have been taking our responsibility seriously by staying at home, to save lives.

As you can imagine, for a magazine that relies so heavily on foreign car launches and driving the latest models on UK roads, we have had to think fast of different ways that we can still continue to operate during these difficult times, without putting any of our colleagues, friends or family at risk. Some of the First Tests that were billed in the last issue failed to happen because of the Coronavirus outbreak, for example.

It is for that reason that we have taken the difficult decision to keep edition 400 – the April 2020 issue pictured above – on sale for an additional four weeks, and instead produce a May/June issue of the magazine that will now go on sale on Friday 15th May 2020.

I know that this will be a disappointing decision for some, but the editorial team felt that this was the best solution considering that none of us know how long this deadly pandemic will continue for. This move allows us to preserve content, to keep the entire team safe, reduce exposure to outside suppliers and to better look after the future of the magazine, once the lockdown rules are relaxed.

We are aware of some writers of other titles that are breaching the lockdown rules and still driving when they shouldn’t be, but the DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine editorial team have been resolute that the Government’s lockdown procedures will be followed, without exception.

To reiterate, issue 401 will now go on sale on Friday 15th May 2020 (rather than this coming Friday), and by then, we hope to have a better idea of how the UK will emerge from its current lockdown status. All subscriptions will be extended automatically, and there is nothing that you need to do for this to happen.

May I lastly thank you for your patience and understanding. The safety of the team and their families is the most important thing to me.

If you would like to discuss this further, please send me an e-mail to ian.robertson@dieselcarmagazine.co.uk.

In the meantime, I really hope that you enjoy the forthcoming issue – it’s going to be one made with a special kind of love, and certainly produced against the odds.

Best wishes and stay safe.
