Skyactiv-X-powered Mazda3 pioneers gasoline compression ignition


Mazda has announced UK specifications and pricing for the Skyactiv-X version of the all-new Mazda3. Arriving in October, Mazda3s fitted with this engine will start from £23,555 with combined economy of up to 52.3mpg, while at the same time the all-new Mazda3 saloon will make its UK debut powered by the 178bhp Skyactiv-X engine and the 114bhp Skyactiv-D diesel engine.

Mazda says the SKYACTIV-X SPCCI petrol engine offers customers outstanding power, acceleration and environmental performance by combining the best attributes of both spark and compression ignition.
Updated Mazda3 on the way.


Mazda is launching the updated 2017 Mazda3. Highlights across the hatchback and Fastback range include exterior changes and an updated cabin as well as the introduction of G-Vectoring Control, the debut of Mazda’s SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technology. The current Mazda3 went on sale in 2014.
