Skoda releases design sketches of the new “more emotive” Octavia

Skoda has released design sketches providing the first glimpse of the new Skoda Octavia. The company says that the new Skoda design language reveals that the fourth generation of the brand’s best-selling model will have a more emotive look; combining compact dimensions with a very generous amount of interior space.

Carmaker Skoda Auto has comprehensively prepared the site for the manufacturing of the first electrified production model in the company’s history, investing approximately 12 million euros (about £10.6 million) in renovation work.

The first Skoda Kamiq has rolled off the production line at Skoda’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The compact city SUV completes Skoda’s SUV portfolio at the lower end. Following in the footsteps of the Kodiaq and Karoq, the Kamiq is the third Skoda SUV for the European market and is designed to combine the advantages of an SUV – such as higher ground clearance and an elevated seat position – with the agility of a compact car.

The Skoda Scala has received the highest rating of five stars in its comprehensive test by the independent European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). This puts it among the safest vehicles in its category, with top marks for the protection of adult occupants and cyclists.
