Suzuki has launched the new Across, which it describes as “a robust and sporty SUV equipped with a sophisticated Plug-in Hybrid system and E-Four electronic 4×4, delivering uncompromising performance and efficiency with the capability and styling of a full-fledged modern SUV”.ation under the collaborative business agreement between Toyota and Suzuki. Sales are set to start in Autumn of 2020 in Europe.

Shooting Brake estate and plug-in hybrids join updated Volkswagen Arteon range

Volkswagen is presenting the new Arteon in a world premiere and is unveiling a second version – the new Arteon Shooting Brake – at the same time. “Volkswagen will launch 34 new models this year. There has never been such an extensive model initiative in the history of the brand,“ says Ralf Brandstätter, Chief Operating Officer und designated CEO of the Volkswagen Pkw brand. “The Arteon Shooting Brake extends our model range in the important midsize-segment. It will set standards in its class with its dynamic design, high functionality and modern technologies.“

Plug-in hybrid powertrain for the DS 7 Crossback

The DS Automobiles electric range is being extended to include a new plug-in hybrid DS 7 Crossback E-TENSE 225 model. It features the pairing of a 178 bhp (221 ft lb) petrol engine and 108 bhp (236 ft lb) electric motor combined with front-wheel drive transmission and a 13.2kWh rechargeable battery. The DS 7 Crossback E-TENSE 225 comes with DS Active Scan suspension (intelligent camera-controlled suspension) as standard, as well as front and rear laminated glass for comfort and sound-proofing.

Plug-in hybrid Mercedes B-Class starts at £35,280

The Mercedes-Benz B 250 e plug-in hybrid is now on sale, with prices starting from £35,280, for the B 250 e AMG Line Executive. The AMG Line Premium equipment line costs £36,780, while the AMG Line Premium Plus is £38,280. The B 250 e features a 1.3-litre petrol engine, which generates 156 bhp and 170 ft lb, with an additional 100 bhp and 243 ft lb available from the electric motor. The on-board battery has a total useable capacity of 10.6 kWh, meaning the B 250 e has an all-electric range of up to 42 miles.

Renault offers switching incentives for plug-ins

Renault is offering new car buyers money off its range of electrified models, with up to £1,000 to switch to an all-electric new Zoe, or £500 towards the deposit on the Clio Hybrid and Captur Plug-in models. The latest deals are part of Renault’s Switch incentive and available in conjunction with existing offers available to new cash buyers as well as those purchasing via one of Renault’s attractive PCP and HP finance schemes.
