Hyundai and Kia push “solar roof” technology

Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor have today announced plans to introduce ‘solar roof’ charging technology on selected Hyundai Motor Group vehicles. Electricity-generating solar panels will be incorporated into the roof or the hood of vehicles, and will support internal combustion, hybrid and battery electric vehicles with additional electrical power, increasing fuel efficiency and range. 

Hyundai NEXO fuel cell electric vehicle scores top Euro NCAP rating

Hyundai Motor has received the maximum five-star overall rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), the independent vehicle assessment organisation, for the all-new NEXO. Hyundai’s second-generation fuel cell electric vehicle demonstrated its high active and passive safety in all four Euro NCAP rating categories.

Hyundai Kona Electric on sale from August

Hyundai Motor UK has officially announced the pricing and specification of the Kona Electric, which will be available to order from 2 August. The Kona Electric is the latest electrified model from Hyundai, joining both the Ioniq family and the forthcoming Next as the brand drives towards 18 new electrified models by 2025

48 V mild hybrid tech for new Hyundai Tucson

The new Hyundai Tucson will be equipped with a fuel-efficient 48V mild hybrid powertrain. It is the first model in the company’s line-up – and one of the first in the industry – to offer the new technology. It will be launched across Europe in the summer. In addition to the upgraded powertrain portfolio, all Tucson engines meet the new Euro 6d Temp emission standards. The New Tucson also offers a major design update and wider range of advanced technology and convenience features.
