New thermal management system used in BMW 3 Series' climate control

For a long time, motorists regarded air conditioning merely as a guarantee of a cool workplace when behind the wheel. During the early 1980s, the optional extra was predominantly ordered as protection against the midsummer heat inside the car, true to the motto: the heat has to stay out, irrespective of how hot the sun is. The greater the “refrigerator feeling” experienced by occupants was, the more effective an air conditioning system was considered to be.

BMW launch Olympics editions ready for 2012

To celebrate BMW’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and inspired by the BMW London 2012 Performance Team, BMW has introduced two new Performance Edition models based on the popular BMW 1 Series and 3 Series.

BMW upgrades the 5 Series range

The 5 Series engine range grows with the arrival of a new twin-turbocharged 525d model and upgrades to the 530d and 535d for September 2011.
