Diesel & Eco Car – Issue 426 – June 2022

While the Lotus Eletre SUV dominates the front cover of the June issue of Diesel&EcoCar, it’s certain to fill the road, too, as it’s a huge 5.1 metres long – that’s similar in size to the Bentley Bentayga! Rather smaller in proportions is the new smart #1, the first product of a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely – the same Chinese company that owns Volvo, LEVC, Proton and Lotus. We’ve got the first pictures of the striking new BMW 7 Series and also the facelifted X7. Audi’s Urbansphere concept is another whopping great vehicle that will command the roads, if it gets made, and we present it alongside Mercedes Benz’s new all-electric EQS SUV. We’ve got the first details of Lexus’ RZ 450e electric SUV and catch both the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class and Rolls-Royce Sceptre during final winter testing.

While the Lotus Eletre SUV dominates the front cover of the June issue of Diesel&EcoCar, it’s certain to fill the road, too, as it’s a huge 5.1 metres long – that’s similar in size to the Bentley Bentayga!

This month’s twin test sees a pair of hybrids battle it out for supremacy, with the Honda Jazz up against the Toyota Yaris. We’ve also slipped behind the wheel of the Jeep Compass e-Hybrid, the latest Ford Fiesta, the Cupra Born and the Genesis GV60. We’ve also tested the updated Dacia Duster on UK roads and the Polestar 2 with single battery pack and long range.

In the Tuning and Economy section, we examine the Mercedes-Benz A 220 CDI and A 220 d, and guide you through the essential modifications to make it even better. This month’s used car buyer’s guide is all about the Audi A3 e-tron, in our newly expanded Buying and Selling section. In fact, the whole magazine has had revisions to the content and design, in addition to the move to the newly truncated Diesel&EcoCar name. We believe that it is now better than ever. There are all your favourites from before the facelift, including The Doctor, Bright Spark, Tech Zone, Legal i, Current Affairs and Gadget Inspector. There’s also the most comprehensive and up-to-date data section in the business, with added content and snippets there, too.
