Mercedes launches six-model EV offensive

Mercedes says its new generation of electric vehicles will be based on a custom-developed architecture, which is scalable in every aspect and can be used across model series. The wheelbase and track as well as all other system components, especially the batteries, are variable thanks to the modular design. This vehicle architecture makes it possible to build Mercedes-Benz electric cars from saloons to large SUVs.
Chassis cab for Renault Master Z.E.

Renault claims that the Master Z.E. offers the widest range of variants for an electric commercial vehicle including panel van, platform cab and now a new chassis cab version. The Master Z.E. now also offers an increased payload over its entire range up to 1,700 kg (before conversion). The new vehicles are available to order from October 2020.
UK car production crashes by 95.4 per cent in May

UK car manufacturing output fell -95.4 per cent in May with just 5,314 vehicles rolling off production lines, according to figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The performance was a slight improvement on April, when only 197 units were built but with factories still closed or running at reduced capacity it still marked the worst May since 1946.
