The all-new Kia Optima Sportswagon was today given its global public debut at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show. It is Kia’s first foray into the D-segment tourer segment and was inspired by the 2015 SPORTSPACE Concept. Manufactured exclusively for Europe, the new Optima Sportswagon offers the striking exterior design and high quality interior of the Optima saloon, with the added practicality and appeal of a tourer.
Hyundai’s All New Tucson compact SUV, introduced at the tail end of last year, will now offer a sixth powertrain option in the shape of an efficient 1.7-litre diesel with seven-speed double clutch transmission.
The athletic and sleekly-designed Sportage is Kia’s flagship model and accounts for 27 per cent of the company’s UK sales. In fact, this year alone they are anticipating sales in the region of 22,500.
Every motor show is jam-packed with plush supercars, glamorous catwalk models, large fanfares, bright lights and all the razzmatazz you could wish for and this year’s Frankfurt event was no different.
The stylish and sophisticated Ford Edge large SUV will be offered in Europe with a choice of 177bhp 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission, or 207bhp bi-turbo 2.0‑litre TDCi diesel with six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.
