Vauxhall boosts fixed price repair programme at dealerships

Vauxhall has announced a new initiative across its national service and repair network intended to position its retailers as “go-to” outlets for parts and service, while offering prices it says would normally only seen in the aftermarket sector. The services are offered under the Vauxhall Fixed Price Repairs banner.
New recycling deal for Honda EV and hybrid batteries

Honda Motor Europe is expanding its battery recycling partnership with SNAM (Société Nouvelle d’Affinage des Métaux) to advance the sustainable usability of its end-of-life traction batteries. The pan-European arrangement will see SNAM collect and recycle batteries from Honda’s increasing number of hybrid and electric vehicles and either potentially prepare them for ‘second-life’ renewable energy storage uses or extract valuable materials for recycling if they are not suitable for that purpose.
Vauxhall staff switch from van-making to ventilators

Vauxhall is providing 22 staff to the Luton site of Smiths Medical, a division of Smiths Group plc, which is being tasked with significantly increasing production of Smiths Group’s paraPAC plus. These ventilators are approved and have been in use within the NHS for over 10 years. The staff – 20 assemblers, plus a Team Leader and Supervisor – were hand-picked from Vauxhall’s Kimpton Road Plant that produces the Vivaro van. They were chosen due to their specialist skills and ability to carry out intricate production work to a very high standard.
IONITY brings 350kW charging to Skelton Lake Services on the M1

IONITY in conjunction with the Extra MSA Group has expanded its UK network with a 350kW High-Power Charging station for electric vehicles at Extra’s recently constructed ‘new concept’ Leeds Skelton Lake Services, located on the M1 J45 east of Leeds. Drivers can now charge their electric cars in less than 20 minutes depending on their vehicle’s charging capacity using renewable energy from the IONITY High Power Charging points. Leeds Skelton Lake is IONITY’s fourth station to be launched in the UK with seven others planned to follow in 2020 in co-operation with Extra MSA Group – each with the UK’s fastest EV chargers.
Dacia scraps home delivery charge for cars ordered online

Car buyers can still browse and buy their Dacia through its online shopping portal while having to remain at home. Dacia has also scrapped its home delivery costs for all models purchased online, helping cash conscious buyers save an extra £250. Anyone who orders through the platform will then be prioritised for delivery as soon as Dacia retailers are fully operational again.
