Polestar teams with electric bike company CAKE

Polestar, the electric performance car brand, and CAKE, the electric bike company, are strengthening their brand partnership in Europe. The two Swedish companies began collaborating in 2019. Scandinavian design, electric powertrains and a new take on marketing, brand and retail are said to be some of the key similarities. The two businesses also work with the shock absorber manufacturer Öhlins.
Over the air updates for Ford’s all-electric Mustang Mach-E

Ford says that owners of the new, all-electric Mustang Mach-E won’t need to experience the fear of missing out, thanks to over-the-air updates continuously improving the SUV over the vehicle’s life without leaving home. And unlike some other cars that require owners to wait while a software update takes place, Ford has developed a way to allow secure updates to download in the background, and in some cases, can be completed in under two minutes.
Ford to reopen UK engine plants

Ford has confirmed that it intends to restart initial production at its Dagenham Engine Plant in Essex and Bridgend Engine Plant in South Wales from May 18. Together with Valencia Engine Plant in Spain, which also restarts production next week, the resumption of production at Dagenham and Bridgend means that all of Ford’s European manufacturing facilities will be back at work.
BYD to launch electric flagship model in Europe

BYD has announced that the Han EV, the company’s pure electric flagship model will be revealed in Europe. The Han EV is the first full-electric passenger car equipped with BYD’s new ‘Blade Battery’ technology – delivering greatly enhanced safety, improved range capability and a simplified, smaller pack design.
Kia sets out its electric plan for Europe

Kia Motors has outlined further details of its shift towards electrification, following record sales of the brand’s electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe in the first quarter of 2020. At the start of the year, Kia Motors announced ‘Plan S’, a new mid- to long-term strategy aimed at progressively establishing a leadership position in the future automotive industry, encompassing electrification and mobility services, as well as connectivity and autonomy.
