JLR unveils Tucana project for composite materials research

Jaguar Land Rover is preparing for future electric vehicles with advanced lightweight composite research it says will will help deliver increased range, greater performance and a more dynamic drive. The Tucana project is a four year programme to make the UK a world leader in low-carbon technology, helping prevent 4.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions between 2023 and 2032 by accelerating mainstream use of electric vehicles and making vehicles lighter.

Enhanced Volkswagen Arteon gets plug-in hybrid power

For the first time, the Volkswagen Arteon is now available with an electrified drivetrain in the form of a plug-in hybrid. The system comprises a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine supported by an electric motor, together providing a peak power output of 215 bhp and torque of 295 lb ft.
