Volvo to limit all cars to 112mph

Volvo Cars will limit the top speed on all its cars to 180kph (112mph) from 2020. The company’s Vision 2020, which aims for no one to be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020, is one of the most ambitious safety visions in the automotive industry. Jaguar’s electric I-PACE is voted European Car of the Year.

The all-electric Jaguar I-PACE has been voted ‘Car of the Year’ at the European Car of the Year Awards 2019. This is the first time a Jaguar has won the prize. Last week, I-PACE was named UK Car of the Year and was praised for being ‘miles ahead of the premium EV pack’.

All-electric Polestar 2 to debut at Geneva

Polestar has taken the next step in its development as the electric performance brand with the reveal of the new Polestar 2, a new all-electric fastback. The company says the new car “offers avant-garde design and a unique customer experience in the premium compact electric segment” and that Polestar 2 is “the first electric car to compete in the marketplace around the Tesla Model 3, with the range starting at a guide price of 39,900 euros”.
