Secret Fords Volume Two

In the follow-up to his award-winning first volume of Secret Fords, ex-Ford product designer Steve Saxty continues to take readers into a world of prototypes, one-off cars and design studies that were never made public. Volume Two begins in the late 1980s, and spans to the launch of the Mk1 Focus RS, including fascinating disclosures such as the story of the GN34 supercar – when coachbuilders Italdesign faced off against Ghia to style a car to take on the Ferrari 328 using Yamaha-Ford power and a British-designed chassis. Or how the Focus was inspired by one sketch penned by a 28-year-old intern. It’s essential reading for anyone that is a fan of the Blue Oval.
