Description

It’s the biggest issue of the year, as the Diesel Car & Eco Car team reveal their top 50 favourite cars of 2021. Counting backwards from 50, we reveal the class leaders and announce our overall winner of the coveted Car of the Year title. Will it be a surprise to you, or can you guess? What we do know is that if you’re looking for a brand-new car during 2021, you really can’t miss the July issue.

This month’s twin test pitches the funky new Mazda MX-30 up against the Vauxhall Mokka-e. Both of these new electric cars offer a twist on the electric formula and are just that bit more interesting than the norm. We’ve also driven the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid, ID.4 SUV and the Toyota Mirai fuel-cell vehicle. Jaguar’s XF is driven in updated D200 AWD guise, and SEAT’s revised Ateca is put through its paces in new Xperience Lux specification with diesel engine.

In the news pages, there’s the first pictures of Skoda’s new Fabia, as well as details of the Cupra Born, the new electric car from the Spanish sports brand. We’ve got the latest news on the launch of the Genesis brand in the UK, including the new G70 Shooting Brake, and there’s the first photos of the facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, extra information on the new Honda HR-V and snippets about the future Polestar 0. There’s a whole lot more, too, with 12 feature-packed pages of news, in addition to 7 pages of Marketplace updates.

This month’s used car buyer’s guide is all about the Volkswagen Golf GTD Mk 7.5, and we have the second instalment of Hall of Fame. Last month’s legendary car was the Skoda Fabia vRS, so watch out for this month’s standout car. There are also your favourites like The Doctor, Legal i, Techzone, Our Cars, Buying, Selling and Maintaining, Marketplace, and the most up-to-date vehicle data anywhere in the motoring world. We’ve also got five new columns called Autojumble, Fuel for Thought, Motor Grump, Retrospective and Road Watch, joining the long-running Bright Spark. If you haven’t seen a copy of DieselCar and EcoCar Magazine lately, be sure to hunt down a copy so that you can test drive the new content for yourself.
